Overview

Shermco is seeking a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. In this role, you will play a critical role in ensuring product and process quality across our supplier network and internal operations. This role requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to manage ambiguity, and excellent communication to collaborate with cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate will have a background in quality engineering, supplier quality, and process improvement while driving proactive quality initiatives.

Responsibilities

  1. Quality Engineering
    1. Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
    2. Analyze data to identify trends, defects, and areas for process improvement.
    3. Support failure analysis, root cause investigation, and corrective/preventive actions.
    4. Develop and refine inspection processes to ensure compliance with quality standards.
  2. Supplier Quality Management
    1. Develop and maintain supplier quality standards, ensuring adherence to company and industry requirements.
    2. Lead supplier audits, evaluations, and corrective action processes to improve quality performance.
    3. Collaborate with suppliers to resolve quality issues, improve processes, and ensure consistent material quality.
  3. Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
    1. Lead problem-solving initiatives for complex, ambiguous quality issues using data-driven methodologies (8D, DMAIC, etc.).
    2. Drive continuous improvement projects using Lean and Six Sigma principles.
    3. Collaborate with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to optimize processes and eliminate defects.
  4. Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration
    1. Act as a key liaison between suppliers, engineering, and quality teams to ensure alignment on quality expectations.
    2. Present quality reports, improvement plans, and risk assessments to leadership.
    3. Provide training and mentorship to junior engineers and quality staff.


Qualifications
  • Education & Experience:
    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related field.
    • 10+ years of experience in supplier quality, quality engineering, or a related role.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Strong understanding of ISO 9001, AS9100, or similar quality management systems.
    • Experience with PPAP, APQP, FMEA, 8D, RCA, and CAPA methodologies.
    • Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and data analysis tools.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Ability to work through ambiguous problems and provide clear solutions.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact with suppliers, internal teams, and executives.
    • Proactive mindset with a focus on collaboration and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Experience in the electrical, energy, or industrial industries.
  • Proficiency with ERP and quality management software.

Pay Range

USD $45.00 - USD $55.00 /Hr.
