We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented API QA Engineer with hands-on experience in REST and SOAP API testing, database validation, and automation testing.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of software development principles, experience in Agile/Scrum environments, and excellent communication skills to collaborate across multiple teams.

You will play a key role in the planning, scripting, execution, and defect management for mission-critical API services, including interactions with 3rd-party APIs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, write, and execute test cases for REST and SOAP APIs to ensure proper test coverage.
  • Develop automated API test scripts using tools such as Karate Labs, Postman, JMeter, or similar.
  • Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, collaborating with developers, BSAs, and QA leads.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing involving various integrated applications.
  • Work closely with QA Lead to support all testing activities and defect lifecycle management.
  • Use SQL queries for data validation and support backend testing efforts.
  • Monitor and maintain regression test suites, adapting them as product features evolve.
  • Participate in off-hours production release testing when required.
  • Collaborate across multiple Scrum teams, contributing fresh ideas and promoting a quality-first mindset.
Required Skills & Experience:
  • Bachelor†s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in software testing.
  • Proven expertise in REST and SOAP API testing using tools like Postman, ThunderClient, SOAP UI.
  • Strong SQL skills to query and validate backend data.
  • Experience with automation frameworks (Karate Labs preferred; Selenium/Java/C also acceptable).
  • Understanding of SDLC, QA frameworks, and testing methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Git, Jenkins.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize work in a fast-paced environment, and drive testing efforts forward.
  • Strong soft skills: vocal, collaborative, idea-driven, and a strong team player.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience interacting with third-party vendors and APIs.
  • Familiarity with performance testing tools like J
