We are looking for a dedicated Software Developer with a strong focus on the North American Power & Gas Commodity markets to create full stack applications that empower Front Office Trading across multiple commodities.
Key Responsibilities: - Lead the design, development, deployment, and management of full stack applications on AWS.
- Oversee the complete software development lifecycle to enhance trading platforms, gathering requirements, managing prioritization, and ensuring timely project delivery.
- Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability and reliability.
- Write secure, high-quality production code, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot issues throughout the software stack.
- Continuously refine development processes and methodologies to boost productivity and efficiency.
- Collaborate closely with global development teams to fulfill organizational technology needs.
Skills and Experience: - Over 8 years of experience in developing enterprise applications.
- Extensive expertise in Python development is essential.
- Significant experience with AWS and related technologies.
- Strong grasp of relational database principles and proficiency with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MySQL.
- Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
- Familiarity with DevOps best practices is advantageous.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas, Trading, or Commodities sector is a plus.
- Proficiency in modern data warehouse platforms like Snowflake and Databricks is beneficial.
- Linux/Unix knowledge is advantageous.
- Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
Position is based in Houston and requires onsite attendance 4 days a week.
