Position: Senior Python Full Stack Developer

The Opportunity:

Seize the chance to be part of one of the largest integrated energy and commodity trading companies in the world. We are looking for a dedicated Software Developer with a strong focus on the North American Power & Gas Commodity markets to create full stack applications that empower Front Office Trading across multiple commodities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the design, development, deployment, and management of full stack applications on AWS.
  • Oversee the complete software development lifecycle to enhance trading platforms, gathering requirements, managing prioritization, and ensuring timely project delivery.
  • Architect and implement cloud-native solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability and reliability.
  • Write secure, high-quality production code, participate in code reviews, and troubleshoot issues throughout the software stack.
  • Continuously refine development processes and methodologies to boost productivity and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with global development teams to fulfill organizational technology needs.
Skills and Experience:
  • Over 8 years of experience in developing enterprise applications.
  • Extensive expertise in Python development is essential.
  • Significant experience with AWS and related technologies.
  • Strong grasp of relational database principles and proficiency with SQL databases, specifically PostgreSQL and MySQL.
  • Expertise in designing and implementing RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
  • Familiarity with DevOps best practices is advantageous.
  • Experience in the Oil & Gas, Trading, or Commodities sector is a plus.
  • Proficiency in modern data warehouse platforms like Snowflake and Databricks is beneficial.
  • Linux/Unix knowledge is advantageous.
  • Strong organizational, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
Position is based in Houston and requires onsite attendance 4 days a week.
