Quest Group is seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented Senior Public Finance Paralegal to join our clients legal team. In this role, you will support attorneys in all aspects of public finance transactions, including municipal bond offerings, government funding projects, and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will bring deep knowledge of public finance law, a strong understanding of securities regulations, and exceptional organizational skills to help manage complex, high-value deals from inception to closing.
Key Responsibilities:
- Draft, review, and revise a wide range of legal documents related to public finance transactions, including bond resolutions, closing binders, offering statements, trust agreements, and tax certificates.
- Manage the due diligence process, including collection, organization, and analysis of financial and legal documents.
- Assist attorneys in preparing and filing disclosure documents with the MSRB's EMMA system and other relevant regulatory agencies.
- Coordinate with underwriters, bond counsel, trustees, financial advisors, and government officials.
- Maintain transaction checklists and monitor timelines to ensure all deadlines are met.
- Assist with post-closing matters, including document archiving, preparing IRS Form 8038 filings, and ongoing compliance.
- Conduct legal research on applicable laws, regulations, and precedents affecting municipal finance.
- Mentor junior paralegals and oversee document management processes to ensure quality and consistency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required; paralegal certificate from an ABA-accredited program strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 4-5 years of experience as a paralegal in public finance or related field.
- Strong knowledge of municipal securities laws, SEC and IRS regulations, and public finance processes.
- Exceptional drafting, proofreading, and legal research skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple transactions simultaneously.
- Proficiency with legal software and systems including Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems (eg, iManage or NetDocuments), and EMMA.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with legal teams and external stakeholders.
