We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Property Accountant to join our vibrant team. This is an exciting opportunity to apply your accounting expertise in a fast-paced, challenging, and rewarding environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing financial information related to our property portfolio, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, and providing strategic financial insights to support decision-making. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional with a strong background in property accounting, shopping center accounting, general ledger (GL), and real estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of financial reporting for a portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews to ensure the accuracy of financial data.
  • Maintain the general ledger, reconcile accounts, and prepare journal entries.
  • Collaborate with property managers and other stakeholders to gather necessary information for financial reporting.
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting for properties.
  • Conduct financial analysis and provide strategic insights to support decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all tax regulations related to property accounting.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and changes in accounting regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. A Master's degree or CPA designation is highly desirable.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with a focus on shopping centers and real estate.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close process.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with team members at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax compliance regulations and procedures.
  • A proactive approach to work, with a strong drive to improve processes and deliver high-quality results.
  • A strong understanding of financial reporting and the ability to interpret and analyze financial data.
  • A commitment to maintaining the highest ethical standards and confidentiality.
