This isn't your average accounting role - you'll be the financial backbone supporting a dynamic team of Property Managers, Leasing Agents, and Construction Pros, helping to keep our operations running smoothly and our financials rock solid.

What You'll Be Doing

Own the Numbers

  • Analyze financial data and transactions like a pro, delivering insights that drive real results.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements - balance sheets, income statements, cash flows - you know the drill.
  • Post journal entries, manage accruals, and keep our books in tip-top shape.
  • Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and support accurate depreciation reporting.
  • Build smart, reliable support schedules for all balance sheet accounts.

Be a Property Accounting Pro

  • Collaborate closely with our Property Management, Leasing, and Construction teams to ensure the numbers align with operations.
  • Decode tenant leases to properly recognize revenue, apply escalations, and execute flawless year-end true-ups.
  • Assist in building annual budgets that are as sharp as your spreadsheet skills.

Master Tenant & Lease Accounting

  • Keep tenant relationships positive and professional - send invoices, record payments, and follow up like a boss.
  • Stay on top of collections and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.
  • Review lease structures and help us recover every dollar we're owed through CAM and operating expense reconciliations.

Drive Efficiency in AP & AR

  • Review and approve invoices with laser precision, ensuring everything is coded and allocated correctly.
  • Calculate leasing commissions and ensure they're recorded accurately.

Support Audits & Special Projects

  • Serve as the go-to for internal and external audit requests.
  • Jump into special projects that help move the business forward - no two days are the same.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience: 4-5 years of accounting experience, ideally in commercial real estate or property management.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA is a plus, but not required.
  • Tech Savvy: You're a whiz with Microsoft Excel and have experience with accounting software like Yardi, MRI, Sage, or similar.
  • Detail-Oriented & Driven: You have strong analytical chops and a laser focus on accuracy.
  • Communicator & Collaborator: You're a team player with excellent communication skills who can work independently and keep projects on track.
  • Deadline Crusher: You thrive under pressure and never miss a deadline - even when things get hectic.
