Are you an experienced Property Accountant with a passion for the real estate industry? We are seeking a Permanent Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller to join our dynamic team in the Accounting + Finance industry. You will be a key player in the financial management of our property portfolio, which includes shopping centers. This role provides a fantastic opportunity to leverage your skills in CAM reconciliations and MRI software and contribute to our company's financial success.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller, your primary responsibilities will include:

1. Overseeing the financial management of our property portfolio, with a particular focus on shopping centers.
2. Performing CAM reconciliations and ensuring all costs are recovered in accordance with lease terms.
3. Utilizing MRI software for property accounting tasks, including financial reporting and budgeting.
4. Assisting with month-end and year-end close processes.
5. Preparing and analyzing financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
6. Assisting with the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts.
7. Collaborating with property managers and other stakeholders to optimize property financial performance.
8. Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in property accounting tasks.

Qualifications:

To be considered for the Senior Property Accountant/Assistant Controller role, you must have:

1. A bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A CPA designation is preferred.
2. A minimum of 5 years of experience in property accounting, with specific experience in shopping center accounting.
3. Proficiency in CAM reconciliations, with a thorough understanding of lease terms and cost recovery processes.
4. Experience with MRI software, including financial reporting and budgeting modules.
5. Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections.
6. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with property managers and other stakeholders.
7. A detail-oriented mindset, with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
8. A commitment to accuracy and integrity in all accounting tasks.
9. A proactive approach, with the ability to identify and implement process improvements in the property accounting function.
10. A willingness to provide mentorship and guidance to junior accounting staff.
