We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Manager / Operations Manager to join a team in Cardiff, taking a pivotal role in the delivery and oversight of construction projects across South Wales and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in main contracting and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex construction projects on time and within budget.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strategic and hands-on leader to help shape operational delivery, maintain client satisfaction, and ensure the highest standards of safety and quality across all projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee end-to-end project management across multiple construction sites

  • Lead project teams and subcontractors to ensure delivery against programme, budget, and quality expectations

  • Manage procurement schedules, construction programmes, and resource allocation

  • Maintain close communication with clients, consultants, and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle

  • Drive operational efficiency and uphold health & safety and compliance standards

  • Support business development and tender processes as required

  • Contribute to long-term operational planning and organisational strategy

Requirements

  • Proven experience with a main contractor in a Senior Project Manager or Operations-level role

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently

  • Solid understanding of commercial and contractual project aspects

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a results-driven attitude

  • Cladding remediation experience is a significant advantage

  • Relevant construction qualifications (e.g., HNC, Degree, or equivalent)

  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black card), First Aid certification (preferred)

Desirable

  • Experience working with local authorities, housing associations, or on high-rise residential schemes

  • Familiarity with current building regulations and cladding safety legislation

  • Membership of a professional body such as CIOB or RICS
