Sr. Project Manager with PX career advancement potential.

Location: Pasadena, CA

Company: Multi-Billion Dollar General Contractor

Comp: 190-225k w/20% Target Bonus

Seeking either a PM who wants to move into a Senior Project Manager or existing PM with experience in the pursuit and delivery of public works projects, particularly in a competitive, hard-bid, design-build environment.

The ideal candidate is a doer-seller who is heavily involved in pursuits, including preconstruction and proposal development, and who has a strong track record of success on the operations side-taking a project from pursuit through execution and closeout.

We're looking for someone capable of leading both a pursuit and a project. For example, a GC-side PM who played a key role in winning and delivering a design-build municipal facility or K-12 school under a hard bid, fast-paced environment.

About the Company:

Our client is a leading multi-billion dollar general contractor with a proven track record of delivering high-profile projects across Southern California. With a commitment to excellence, collaboration, and innovation, they specialize in design-build construction, ensuring efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and seamless project execution.

They are currently seeking a Project Executive / Senior Project Manager to join their Pasadena office and lead complex design-build projects. This is a career-defining opportunity for a seasoned construction professional looking to manage high-value projects while mentoring and growing a strong project team.

Position Overview:

The Senior Project Manager will oversee all aspects of design-build projects from preconstruction through completion, ensuring successful delivery that aligns with client expectations, budgets, and timelines. This role requires a strong leader with extensive experience in design-build project delivery, capable of managing multiple teams, fostering client relationships, and driving project success.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead design-build projects from concept through completion, ensuring collaboration between design teams, engineers, and field operations.
  • Develop and execute project strategies that optimize cost, schedule, and quality, ensuring successful outcomes.
  • Oversee preconstruction efforts, including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, and constructability reviews.
  • Manage client relationships, serving as the primary point of contact while ensuring expectations are met or exceeded.
  • Direct and mentor project managers, engineers, and field teams, fostering professional development and team success.
  • Ensure adherence to contract requirements, safety regulations, and industry best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive risk assessment, problem-solving, and decision-making to address project challenges proactively.
  • Collaborate with business development teams to support bidding efforts, proposals, and securing new opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on design-build construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience managing large-scale projects ($50M+) in commercial, healthcare, education, aviation, or infrastructure sectors.
  • Expertise in design-build project delivery, including preconstruction planning and execution.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in construction management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, Bluebeam, or equivalent.
  • Familiarity with Southern California construction markets, permitting, and regulatory requirements.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • 20% Target Bonus, based on project performance and company goals.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with company match.
  • Paid time off, holidays, and professional development support.
  • Career advancement opportunities with an industry-leading general contractor.

Why Join This Team?

  • Work with a top-tier GC delivering some of the most iconic projects in Southern California.
  • Career growth opportunities with a company that values leadership and long-term success.
  • Competitive salary with executive-level benefits, bonuses, and incentives.
  • A dynamic, team-oriented culture that fosters collaboration and innovation.
