Senior Project Manager - Construction

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager who will oversee wind, Solar, and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects from development through construction, commissioning, and turnover to Operations. The successful candidate will lead construction planning activities, define EPC scopes of work for projects, lead the Request for Proposal (PFP) process, and act as an Owner's Project Manager for active construction projects. This position will report to the Director of Project Management. The role requires the ability to manage various renewable projects and willingness to travel periodically to project locations. To succeed in this position, the candidate will need to demonstrate an aptitude for efficiency, problem-solving, and resourcefulness, with a deep commitment to the bottom line without compromising quality.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Define and document RFPs and scope of work packages.
  • Lead the EPC selection and facilitate the contract negotiation.
  • Act as the Owner's Representative for Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) Contract Management for utility-scale wind, solar and battery projects in the US.
  • Review and manage EPC Contractor schedules, budgets, scope, subcontractors, EHS plans, and permit compliance.
  • Review utility interconnection processes for construction projects and related documentation needed for project interconnection and testing.
  • Responsible for Risk Management and capturing Lesson Learned during Construction activities.
  • Manage engagements with project stakeholders and act as a representative of the company for interactions with landowners, local governmental agencies, customers, contractors, equipment and materials suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Support permitting and jurisdictional approval processes, as needed for project construction.
  • Coordinate with EPC contractors and equipment vendors to ensure adherence to and compliance with contract terms and delivery of contractual deliverables in accordance with the project budget and schedule.
  • Manage and coordinate activities of internal teams, as well as deliverables of EPC Contractor, project stakeholders, and regulatory and permitting authorities.
  • Ensure project quality control and safety practices are implemented by conducting on-site inspections as needed.
  • Lead project status update meetings with energy off-takers, utilities, EPCs, and finance counterparties, facilitating discussions with a detailed project plan.
  • Manage the collection, organization and filing of all project documentation, both internally and for external third-party stakeholders and project financing needs.
  • Provide project updates and reporting on a weekly and monthly basis.
  • Lead the coordination of project turnover from Construction to Operations for assigned projects.
  • Assist with the development of internal operating policies, standards, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Degree in engineering, project management, construction management OR 10+ years of professional experience in a construction project management role
  • Familiarity with wind and solar project construction, design and technical standards
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, Procore, MS Teams, CPM scheduling, and Primavera P6
  • Familiarity with NEC and NFPA code requirements preferred

Salary, Benefits and Location:

  • Salary dependent on experience and qualifications ($140,000-$170,000)
