Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Project Engineer with strong experience in commercial construction to play a key role in supporting complex projects from preconstruction through closeout. The ideal candidate will work closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, and subcontractors to manage documentation, track progress, and ensure quality and compliance across all phases of construction. Key Responsibilities:

Project Coordination & Documentation

  • Assist the Project Manager in managing all phases of construction activities and ensuring project goals are met.
  • Prepare, track, and manage RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, logs, and document control using systems like Procore or Bluebeam.
  • Maintain up-to-date construction drawings and ensure timely distribution to field teams and subcontractors.
  • Assist with change order documentation, material procurement, and subcontractor coordination.

Schedule & Progress Management

  • Work with the team to develop and maintain project schedules, including look-ahead schedules and milestone tracking.
  • Support coordination of material deliveries and trade sequencing to maintain workflow.
  • Monitor and report on project progress and assist in identifying and resolving delays or obstacles.

Cost Management & Quality Assurance

  • Support the PM in budget tracking, pay applications, and cost forecasting
  • Assist with onsite inspections, punch list creation, and QA/QC procedures
  • Track compliance with project specifications, safety policies, and regulatory requirements.

Team & Stakeholder Coordination

  • Interface with subcontractors, vendors, and consultants to facilitate timely responses and approvals.
  • Collaborate with Superintendents to relay accurate site information to the office and vice versa.
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, coordination sessions, and progress reviews

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in a project engineering or coordination role in the construction industry.
  • Familiarity with ground-up, commercial, mixed-use, education, or public works construction
  • Proficient in Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, PlanGrid, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, codes, contract documents, and MEP systems
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills
