The Senior Project Engineer will be responsible for managing and executing capital projects that support plant operations, capacity expansions, and process improvements. This role requires strong technical expertise, project management skills, and the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of capital projects ranging from $500K to $20M.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior leadership.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in engineering practices and project execution.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 7+ years of experience in project engineering within the chemical, petrochemical, or related process industries.
- Proven track record of managing large-scale capital projects.
- Strong knowledge of process design, piping systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
- Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certification is a plus.
