Senior Product Manager & Designer
Position Type: Contract / Freelance
Location: 100% Remote (U.S.-based only)
Who Are We?
BearPeak is a boutique software engineering and design consultancy headquartered in Boulder, CO. We help fast-moving startups and scaling companies bring exceptional digital products to life - from concept to code - with a focus on clean design, solid engineering, and real user value.
Who Are You?
You're a strategic thinker with the soul of a designer. Equal parts product owner and UX advocate, you love shaping ideas into clear, well-scoped plans and turning those into beautifully intuitive digital experiences. You thrive in ambiguity, lead with empathy, and bring structure to chaos without crushing creativity.
What You'll Be Doing
- Define product strategy, vision, and roadmap in collaboration with stakeholders and technical leads.
- Translate loose business ideas into wireframes, mockups, user flows, and requirements that guide the team.
- Own product discovery - leading interviews, market research, and usability testing to validate decisions.
- Design and prototype clean, usable interfaces with tools like Figma or Adobe XD.
- Drive sprint planning, backlog grooming, and prioritization based on business goals and user needs.
- Communicate with clients, engineers, and fellow designers to ensure clarity, feasibility, and alignment.
- Manage the full lifecycle of a product from ideation through launch, iteration, and ongoing optimization.
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in digital product management and/or product design.
- Proven ability to drive product from user research through release.
- Strong portfolio showing user-centered design thinking and product success stories.
- Proficiency in modern design tools (e.g., Figma, Adobe Creative Suite).
- Experience with Agile teams and comfort working alongside developers and engineers.
- Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
- You can take the reins, make decisions, and keep things moving without hand-holding.
- Bonus points for front-end awareness (HTML/CSS), mobile product experience, or analytics fluency.
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field is nice, but talent talks louder.
- Outstanding junior candidates may be considered with exceptional experience or portfolio.
