Procurement Specialist - Procedural Operations and Perioperative Services

Job Summary:
The Procurement Specialist supports Procedural Operations and Perioperative Services by managing the procurement of supplies, implants, and equipment across multiple departments. Responsibilities include requisition processing, contract management, database maintenance, and collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, an effective communicator, and a proactive problem solver with procurement and contracting experience.

Ideal Candidate Profile:
  • Understanding of procurement contracts and experience in requisitioning, project coordination, and working with buyers.
  • Quick learner with strong technical and analytical skills.
  • Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and resolving procurement issues.

  • Adaptable, self-motivated, and efficient with time management.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Procure supplies and equipment for multiple departments, processing requisitions via PeopleSoft with quick turnaround times.
  • Manage 20+ service contracts, update tracking sheets, and resolve supply chain issues with Materials Management.
  • Research and analyze accounts payable, vendor, and variance inquiries.
  • Maintain procurement databases, ensuring accurate vendor submissions and special orders.
  • Expedite urgent/emergency supplies for surgical cases and coordinate proper storage.
  • Identify and resolve price discrepancies, assist with expense reduction projects, and validate pricing accuracy.
  • Facilitate Exclusive Acquisition Justification (EAJ) requests and contract renewals.
  • Serve as SME for procurement functions, process improvements, and instrument repairs.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent.

Experience
Seven years of experience in a general business environment. With preferred degree, three years of experience in a general business environment is required.
