Job Description: Senior Process Engineer

Role Overview
Seeking a Senior Process Engineer to lead capital projects and optimize chemical manufacturing processes. The engineer will manage full project lifecycles-from conceptual design through commissioning-and drive improvements in efficiency, safety, and production output. This is a hands-on role requiring coordination across engineering disciplines and active involvement in troubleshooting and standards development.
Key Responsibilities
- Capital Project Leadership
- Design, procure, construct, and commission new chemical process units.
- Define technical alternatives and improve tolling operations.
- Oversee process design packages and direct external contractors.
- Process Optimization
- Lead Process Hazard Analyses (PHA) and HAZOP reviews.
- Develop and maintain plant and corporate engineering standards.
- Troubleshoot, debottleneck, and expand process capacity.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with CADD, mechanical, instrumentation, and automation teams.
- Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and quality regulations.
- Technical and Operational Support
- Act as lead engineer on projects of varying scale.
- Manage project scope, schedule, and cost across units.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering.
- 10+ years of experience in a chemical manufacturing environment.
- Strong foundation in mass/energy balances, heat transfer, hydraulics, equipment sizing, and MOC selection.
- Experience in commissioning, automation, and process optimization.
- Familiarity with P&IDs, process simulations (Aspen or ChemCad), and engineering standards.
- PSM knowledge and PHA participation required.
