Piper Sandler & Co., Minneapolis, MN seeks Senior Platform Engineers - Analyzing user needs and software requirements at the company to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraints. Creating infrastructure in Kubernetes and deploy the docker images to run in Kubernetes and designing, implementing, and managing sophisticated automated strategies for our server storage infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS), ensuring streamlined operations and a significant reduction in manual intervention and building the infrastructure using Terraform. Developing, refining, and deploying automation scripts and tools and docker images in OpenShift/AKS instance and use of virtualization technologies, including VMware ESX servers and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes to enhance system provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and management, with an emphasis on cloud services integration and management. Monitoring functioning of equipment services in Azure to ensure system operates in conformance with specifications and create Graphana/Datadog dashboards to visualize the data after the transformations. Leading initiatives to ensure the utmost reliability, scalability, and performance of our server, storage, and cloud platforms, employing thorough performance management strategies to identify and proactively address potential issues to include integration of Github with Jenkins/ADO for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment. Participating in and often leading comprehensive project assignments, ensuring meticulous attention to detail in maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives for optimal company operations and integrating Azure synapse pipelines with ITSM (Service Now) to create incidents on failed pipelines. Utilization of automation tools and frameworks including Ansible and Terraform across diverse on-premises and cloud environments and directing software system testing or validation procedures, programming, or documentation as required for our server storage infrastructure. Partnering closely with application development teams, understanding their needs, and providing infrastructure solutions that enhance their productivity and the performance of applications to include designing, implementing and managing sophisticated automated strategies for server storage infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS), ensuring streamlined operations and a significant reduction in manual intervention. Maintaining scrupulous documentation for system changes, automation processes, and platform configurations, strictly adhering to the company's change management policies to include developing, refining, and deploying automation scripts and tools to enhance system provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and management, with an emphasis on cloud services integration and management. Excelling in collaboration and communication with diverse stakeholder groups, breaking down complex technical topics into clear, understandable insights, and advocating for infrastructure needs and priorities.

Requires Bachelor's (or foreign educ. equiv.) Degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Information Technology or a related field and Five (5) yrs. (post-degree, progressive) experience in Job Offered or related. Experience must have included Integration of Github with Jenkins/ADO for Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment; Deploying docker images in OpenShift/AKS instance; Creating infrastructure in Kubernetes and deploy the docker images to run in Kubernetes; Building the infrastructure using Terraform; Create Graphana/Datadog dashboards to visualize the data after the transformations; Working on Monitoring services in Azure for monitoring the resources; Integrating Azure synapse pipelines with ITSM (Service Now) to create incidents on failed pipelines; Designing, implementing and managing sophisticated automated strategies for server storage infrastructure in both on-premises and cloud environments (Azure, AWS), ensuring streamlined operations and a significant reduction in manual intervention; Developing, refining, and deploying automation scripts and tools to enhance system provisioning, configuration, monitoring, and management, with an emphasis on cloud services integration and management; Use of virtualization technologies, including VMware ESX servers and containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes; and Utilizing automation tools and frameworks including Ansible and Terraform across diverse on-premises and cloud environments. $150,000/yr.
