We are seeking a Senior Water Pipeline Design Engineer to lead the design and implementation of critical water pipeline replacement projects as part of a major infrastructure program for California's largest water utility. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead pipeline design and replacement projects, ensuring compliance with technical, regulatory, and environmental standards.
- Conduct engineering calculations, design reviews, and develop project documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams, agencies, and stakeholders to devise innovative solutions.
- Oversee permitting processes, schedule coordination, and contractor selection.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.
- Ensure project safety, quality control, and risk assessment compliance.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field (Master's preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in California (EIT certificate considered equivalent).
- 10+ years of advanced engineering experience with a focus on pipeline design and infrastructure projects.
- Strong understanding of hydraulics, pipe materials, pressure ratings, and industry standards (AWWA, ASCE, ASTM, etc.).
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, InfoWater, Cesar, AutoPipe, and GIS mapping tools (ArcGIS).
- Exceptional communication skills for presenting technical details to diverse audiences.
- Experience in permitting processes, regulatory compliance, and cost assessments.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Certified Water Professional (CWP) or equivalent.
- GIS or Asset Management Certification.
