LHH is currently partnering with a growing service organization to hire a Senior Payroll Specialist to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for processing multi-state payroll, ensuring payroll compliance and handling all employee questions regarding payroll.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll processing for up to 150 multi-state employees
- Understand and follow federal, state, and local laws and regulations
- Analyze and resolve any payroll discrepancies
- Calculate bonuses, and commissions
- Process garnishments, deductions and benefits
- Review and process payroll taxes and ensure timely payments
- Answer employee questions and concerns
- Create various reports for payroll taxes, benefits, and accounting
- Assist with preparation of W-2s and 1099s at the end of the year
- Assist with process improvement and system implementations
- Other ad hoc projects as needed
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role
- Experience with payroll processing software similar to ADP, Paylocity, or Paychex
- Experience with multi-state payroll processing
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- CPP designation is considered a plus
- Strong systems experience including Microsoft Excel
- Strong attention to detail and good time management skills
