Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) with expertise in Linux to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining all Oracle databases across Production, Development, and Test environments. This role requires strong expertise in Oracle RAC 19c, Exadata, Oracle Data Guard, and database performance tuning. The successful candidate will work independently and collaboratively with various teams to ensure database security, availability, and optimal performance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Plan, design, install, configure, secure, maintain, and support all Oracle RAC 19c database environments on Exadata and Oracle Data Guard for disaster recovery (Site B).
  • Monitor and analyze database resource utilization, ensuring performance tuning and optimization.
  • Administer and maintain Oracle Exadata clusters, including upgrading databases and Oracle Grid Infrastructure.
  • Validate and implement quarterly patches on Exadata Oracle RAC servers (Production and Development) and Oracle Data Guard (Site B) following a structured update schedule.
  • Enable and support Oracle encryption across all database environments using Oracle Key Vault.
  • Collaborate with the Unix and network security teams to monitor and enhance operating system security.
  • Ensure adherence to established Change Management policies and procedures.
  • Maintain disaster recovery configurations for Oracle Linux systems and perform periodic disaster recovery tests.
  • Perform database backup and recovery testing using Veam Solution.
  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle ASM-clustered environments.
  • Provide technical support to Systems Development and Business Users.
  • Set up and monitor scheduled Oracle batch jobs.
  • Set up and monitor system alerts to ensure 24x7 database availability and support.
  • Liaise with Oracle and other vendors for troubleshooting and escalate issues when necessary.
  • Follow established communication protocols for database outages and file incident reports.
  • Escalate major database issues to senior IT management.
  • Respond to Service Desk tickets, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution.
  • Maintain inventory of all database environments and software assets.
  • Available to work after hours and weekends as needed.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
  • 8-10 years of experience as a Senior Oracle DBA managing large-scale Oracle Data Guard environments on Oracle Linux.
  • Proficiency in Shell scripting, Perl, and Python.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in networking services and protocols related to Linux, including TCP/IP, SSL, SFTP, SSH, and Sendmail.
  • Experience in migrating databases to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud is a plus).
  • Hands-on experience in supporting Oracle WebLogic and Oracle RDBMS in Oracle Linux environments.
  • Expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical software and application issues.
  • Strong problem-solving, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multitask and perform efficiently in a high-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work independently and in team settings to solve complex problems.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • A strong team player with a service-oriented attitude and customer focus.
