Branches: Hayward, San Jose, San Francisco, Martinez, Oakland

POSITION SUMMARY:The Senior Operations Manager is tasked with managing several warehouses within an assigned region. In this role, they are pivotal in overseeing high-value inventory, ensuring exceptional customer service, and building high-performing teams. Their focus includes safety, branch operations, warehouse efficiency, and driving customer service excellence through key performance metrics.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Effectively communicate the "Mygrant Messages" to customers and employees across multiple branches.
  • Monitor and uphold operations performance goals and standards, ensuring consistency across all branches.
  • Partner and collaborate with internal departments to efficiently meet branch objectives and ensure adherence to company procedures and standards.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and various regulations, including state and federal guidelines, safety protocols, and OSHA and DOT regulations.
  • Design and implement processes that contribute to the profitable growth of each respective branch to achieve and surpass branch goals while meeting the annual budget.
  • Monitor and coach optimal inventory practices to guarantee stock accuracy, maintain fill rates, and ensure prompt receiving.
  • Develop comprehensive business plans tailored to the unique operations of each branch.
  • Clearly define branch goals and disseminate them throughout the branch network.
  • Oversee the overall security of branches and the well-being of branch employees.
  • Responsible for safeguarding company assets, which includes ensuring branches are handling money in accordance with established controls and protocols. Identify and report any potential risk areas, providing valuable feedback to enhance security measures and protect assets effectively.
  • Mentor and coach manager and supervisors to foster a culture of growth and development to facilitate a smooth branch succession plan and streamline operations.
  • Implement performance management strategies including coaching branch teams toward achieving successful performance goals.
  • Manage teams to provide outstanding customer service while also ensuring prompt collection of customer payments.
  • Serve as a valuable resource to teams within designated branches to ensure support and collaboration while meeting KPI objectives.
  • Travel to designated branches as required to evaluate branch operations, identify current needs, and implement necessary corrective actions to ensure continued progress.
  • Collaborate with the territory account manager and/or sales team to achieve customer service objectives.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Proven leadership and ability to cultivate a culture of teamwork, customer focus, and respect.
  • Live and work with a very high level of integrity.
  • Keen eye for detail and safety.
  • Demonstrate a track record of career growth in business management, retail and warehouse management experience preferred.
  • Direct involvement in developing customer service experiences and exceeding expectations.
  • High level of experience with Microsoft products.
  • Experience with both fleet and Material Handling Equipment (MHE) safety and maintenance preferred.
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
EDUCATION AND LICENSING:
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License required and pass MVR review under company guidelines.
  • Maintain an MVR record that is insurable under company guidelines.
  • CMV DOT Medical Card preferred.
  • Pass and maintain Material Handling Equipment Certifications including Forklift certification, and other internal and external certifications.
  • 5+ years of experience with inventory control, inventory reconciliation, and cycle counting.
  • Proven track record of 4+ years in management of at least ten employees including recruiting, hiring, and developing top talent.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

This position requires close visual acuity to perform activities such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); and/or assembly or fabrication of parts at distances close to the eyes; Ability to perceive the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and making fine discriminations in sound; Exerting up to 75 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects;. Must be able to remain in a stationary position and/or upright, for prolonged periods of time, traverse stairs, maneuver in tight spaces, reach overhead, squat, bend, kneel, stoop, and crouch extended periods of time during 8-10-hour work shift.

BASE PAY:

The listed range is what we reasonably expect to pay for this opportunity at the time of this posting. Actual compensation is based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, the individual's experience, education, certifications, knowledge, skills and geography/ work location, and may ultimately be more or less than the posted range. Base pay does not include other forms of compensation, such as our offered benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, FSA and 401k plan, holiday, sick and vacation days.
