Description The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is searching for a Senior Operations and Maintenance Network Engineer to manage various wide area networks (WANs) and local area networks (LANs). This role offers the opportunity to utilize your expertise in routing and boundary protection for an enterprise-level infrastructure while collaborating with a range of technology vendors.
The responsibilities of the Senior Operations and Maintenance Network Engineer include:
- Providing Tier III support for Juniper and Cisco routers, including detailed troubleshooting at layer 2 and layer 3, and implementing routing changes.
- Troubleshooting issues related to network connectivity, latency, and asymmetric routing.
- Implementing routing and addressing challenges associated with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, MPLS, VRFs, and VPNs.
- Facilitating technical exchange meetings to address concerns from ISPs and application owners.
- Engaging in problem management to perform root cause analysis of recurring network issues.
- Delivering day-to-day operations and maintenance support for incident management events and outages.
- Collaborating with IT staff on various projects and initiatives to enhance network reliability.
- Working alongside other technical support teams to resolve network traffic concerns effectively.
- Utilizing monitoring tools and log collectors to perform in-depth analysis of traffic anomalies and network issues.
- Being available for after-hours support on a rotational basis.
- While not mandatory, experience with Palo Alto, Cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA), and Forcepoint firewall systems is advantageous.
Basic Requirements: - Required Clearance: TS/SCI with active Polygraph.
- Candidate must possess 16 years of experience, which can be a combination of education and work history (Doctorate with 8 years, Master's with 10 years, Bachelor's with 12 years, Associate's with 14 years, or HS diploma with 16 years).
- Must comply with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.
- Experience configuring and troubleshooting Juniper and Cisco routers and switches.
- Familiarity with protocols such as OSPF, BGP, VPNs, VRFs, and MPLS.
- Understanding of routing, switching, Internet Protocol (IP) subnetting, Network Address Translation (NAT), and various security technologies.
- Proficient in engineering and modifying rulesets to support new customer connectivity requirements.
- Ability to read and develop schematic diagrams, technical manuals, and documentation to facilitate equipment maintenance.
- Experience with Service Now or similar IT Service Management (ITSM) products.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.
Desired Qualifications: - Project Management Professional Certification is a plus.

Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
