YOUR ROLE At CEVA Lead Logistics, we excel in providing customers with exceptional Visibility and Control throughout their Supply Chain. Our global network of operations experts, located in 12 Control Towers, delivers top-notch services including Supplier and Order Management, Transport Planning and Monitoring, and performance and freight cost management. This role, based in the CEVA Lead Logistics Control Tower in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, UK, involves reporting to the Contract Manager and leading regional operational teams for one of our valued LLP / 4PL customers. You will ensure seamless implementation of operational services across various transport providers and modes while upholding premium quality and meeting both performance and cost aspirations.
WHAT YOU WILL DO - Oversee the daily operations of the CLL Control Tower regional teams to meet established work standards (SOPs and Work Instructions), aiming to deliver outstanding Lead Logistics services to our customers.
- Ensure compliance with internal customer quality metrics and KPIs (such as OTIF). In cases of non-performance, facilitate the investigation process and coordinate corrective actions with various CLL functions.
- Provide guidance to operational teams for problem resolution and serve as the escalation point for unresolved issues with the customer.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customer operational counterparts, conducting regular operational management exchanges.
- Manage an operational team dedicated to one CLL customer, ensuring compliance with CEVA's values and policies.
- Monitor Control Tower performance through internal KPIs, tracking productivity and labor performance using CLL tools.
- Facilitate knowledge sharing among staff, ensuring that all team members are trained on the latest CEVA and customer processes and policies.
- Evaluate team performance and professional development, creating training and succession plans for team members.
- Identify resource needs and assist in the recruitment and onboarding of new team members.
- Support the CLL Contract Manager in P&L analysis to secure customer profitability relative to operational costs.
- Contribute to the preparation of monthly and quarterly business reviews with the customer, taking an active role in review meetings.
- Engage with CLL Contract Management to address operational challenges and propose improvement initiatives.
- Implement business scope changes, processes, or policies in collaboration with CLL Management, Contract Management, and regional BPE.
- Oversee Document Management within the Control Tower, ensuring all documentation (SOP, Guidelines, Work Instructions) is current and applicable personnel are adequately trained.
- Guarantee full adherence to company and quality policies across all Control Towers.
WHAT WE SEEK Education and Experience - Minimum Bachelor's degree in Logistics, 3PL, Transportation, Supply Chain Management, or a related field, or similar work experience.
- At least 5 years of experience in freight forwarding operations or a related customer-facing role.
- Minimum of 2 years managing a larger operational team.
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's degree in business with a focus on Supply Chain, Transportation, or comparable field.
- Extensive logistics/ forwarding experience in sectors like Automotive, Aerospace, Pharma/Healthcare, High-tech, or Consumer.
- Experience in a LLP/4PL Control Tower setting is desirable.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience - Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel, Power Point, Project).
- Familiarity with logistics software and tools (TMS, WMS, ERP, or similar) at an end-user level.
- Customer-centric and quality-focused mindset, with a commitment to delivering high-quality operational services.
- Practical and results-oriented approach.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with the ability to motivate and support both on-site and virtual teams.
- Structured and calm problem-solving skills, setting appropriate targets and priorities for self and team.
- Strong communication skills adaptable to all stakeholder levels, from operational staff to senior management.
- Fluency in English (written and spoken) is essential.
- Willingness to work in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual team and travel up to 15% for customer meetings or visits to off-site operations.
Preferred: - End-user experience with reporting tools (Tableau, Qlik, Business Objects, Power BI) is a plus.
- Knowledge of additional regional languages is an advantage (subject to local/customer requirements).
- Existing intercultural work experience.
