Senior Open-Source DBA (Mongo)

What does a successful Senior Open-Source DBA (Mongo) do at Fiserv?

You will create, maintain, design, monitor and troubleshoot Fiserv databases. You'll use specific relational database management systems, develop, and implement database recovery mechanisms and procedures, and coordinate security measures to safeguard database integrity. Working closely with clients, business analysts, systems programmers, and application developers to define and resolve information flow and content issues, you'll help transform business requirements into environment specific databases and contribute to the overall performance of the enterprise database environment.

What you will do:
  • Analyze business requirements and utilize AWR, ADDM, ASH, and other tools to ensure resource sizing is sufficient
  • Identify database bottlenecks, provide remediation steps, implement database backup solutions, and perform database restore actions
  • Design and implement security configuration including grants, roles, and profiles
  • Perform database security monitoring, auditing, implementing security standards, tuning and design, size, and implement enterprise level database systems
  • Install and configure database software and Perform database upgrade and patching
  • Complete database migrations from legacy to new hardware
  • Design and implement Mongo, MySQL, Postgres, and other database clustering solutions
  • Perform OS troubleshooting, server capacity planning, and resource analysis
What you will need to have:
  • 5+ years of experience with various databases
  • 2+ years of experience architecting and maintaining complex relational databases for web applications using Open-Source databases such as MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and MySQL
  • 2+ years of experience setting up and managing Cassandra, MongoDB, and CosmosDB
  • 2+ years of experience automating NoSQL day-to-day operational activities, such as security, index maintenance, backups, disaster recovery, and installation
  • 2+ years of experience with Python, PowerShell, RedHat Linux, Mac OS, IIS, and Active Directory
  • 2+ years of experience with cloud technologies such as Google Cloud and Azure
  • 2+ years of experience with Windows OS, Unix, and Linux operating systems
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
