Job Title: Senior Nursing Director

Role Purpose:

Under the general direction of the Chief Nursing Officer, the Senior Nursing Director is responsible for developing, implementing, leading, and evaluating all aspects of nursing management to ensure the delivery of high-quality, patient- and family-centered care across the Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, Intensive Care, and Intermediate Care Units. The role ensures that all activities and resources align with the mission, vision, and strategic objectives of the organization.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, ICU, and Intermediate Care units.
  • Participate actively in the organization's strategic planning, helping to develop and achieve plan goals.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Drive the provision of quality patient care through continuous evaluation and improvement initiatives.
  • Oversee resource allocation to ensure optimal operational performance.
  • Mentor, coach, and support the development of nursing leaders and staff.
  • Lead quality assurance, patient safety, and service excellence initiatives within the clinical areas.
  • Foster a collaborative, respectful, and inclusive culture within nursing teams.
  • Develop and monitor budgets, staffing plans, and performance improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional leadership to achieve operational and clinical excellence.

Required Qualifications:

Licensure: Current and unencumbered North Carolina (NC) Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Certifications: Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification within 60 days of hire.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years in healthcare management or a related field (required).
  • Minimum of 5 years clinical experience in ICU/CCU (required). Other strong clinical backgrounds may be considered in lieu of direct ICU/CCU experience.

Skills:

  • Strong critical thinking, leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and work with minimal supervision.
  • Must demonstrate commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Specialty certification (preferred).
  • Experience across multiple clinical specialties.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Salary Range: Competitive pay rate
  • Sign-on Bonus: $15,000 (with a two-year commitment).
  • Relocation Assistance: Up to $10,000 with receipts.
