SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and technical advice for all project stages in the acquisition life cycle, including advanced technology and integration activities. Advise on cost, schedule, and performance. Revise or draft Joint Capabilities Integrated Development System (JCIDS) and other acquisition documentation, supporting presentations to stakeholders. Provide draft SME-level technical or programmatic status reports as requested. Identify and recommend improvements in acquisition processes and risk management. Support the government program manager with financial management including earned value management and schedule analysis for defense contracts. Provide Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE) support and subject matter expertise for Integrated Baseline Reviews/Business Financial Reviews. Maintain current program schedule awareness, monitor acquisitions, report shortfalls, and assess programs based on risks. Assist in executing source selections as per FAR 9.505-4, including coordinating meetings, developing documentation, and drafting proposal evaluations. Provide modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) support; develop Space Protection and Space Control mission area architectures. Advise and assist on test operations, support test document preparation, event planning, and system-level test integration. Provide analytical and operational engineering support for current and future operations, focusing on mission planning and anomaly resolution. Support data and signal collection, processing, storage, archiving, and analysis to aid testing, operations, and future concept developments. Assist with post-mission analysis and reporting. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Degree requirement: BA/BS with 16 or more years' experience; or MA/MS with 13 or more years' experience; or Ph.D./JD with 10 or more years' experience. Requires 10 years' experience in this type of position or program. Must be expert in wide area network architecture planning, design, and applicable open systems interconnections layers. Must be highly knowledgeable in Information Technology Service Management. Must be highly knowledgeable in architecture and system requirements development. Requires experience performing government space systems program support efforts to develop, update, and coordinate program documentation. Requires experience with engaging various DoD organizations to coordinate architecture alignment efforts and mission partner requirements collection. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not supervise the work of others. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%. TRAVEL: Little if any travel is required. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position.
