We are focused on unifying the Navy's shore-based networks and data management to enhance capability and service while achieving significant cost savings.
We are currently seeking a Senior Network Switching Design Engineer to enhance our team in New Orleans, LA. In this role, you will support the Government Lead through various engineering duties on systems, including the development and integration of identity and access management requirements.
Your Key Responsibilities Include: - Performing comprehensive administration for Local Area Network (LAN), Base Area Network (BAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN).
- Planning and executing conversions and cutovers, while troubleshooting communication hardware and software issues.
- Designing and implementing LAN/BAN and Data Center Switching networks.
- Managing Internet Protocol (IP) schemes and address management tasks.
- Supporting engineering and design for Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) services, facilitating telephone system interfaces with unlimited local connection.
- Ensuring compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities Requirements and monitoring security updates as per government procedures.
- Managing Active Directory (AD) services alongside Windows Light Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) for network devices and appliances.
- Monitoring and optimizing replication speed of directory services.
- Overseeing Rights Management Services for administrators, users, and groups, and integrating application networking ports and protocols.
- Executing integration with Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) certificates to support two-factor authentication for all Active Directory domain accounts.
- Designing and integrating network switching solutions, employing technologies such as LAN, BAN, Trunking, Port Channels, and Virtual Local Area Networks (VLANs), alongside network security measures.
- Implementing multivendor solutions using Cisco, Juniper, Brocade, and various other technologies, particularly in large-scale network environments.
Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in the field.
- Information Assurance Technician (IAT) Level II certification.
- US Citizenship with an active Secret Security Clearance.
- ITIL version 3 Foundation certification, along with professional-level certifications in relevant vendor technologies like Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Routing and Switching or Juniper Networks Certified Internet Professional (JNCIP), or equivalent experience.
The expected salary range for this role is $89,700.00 - $162,150.00. This range is a general guideline and actual salary will depend on various factors, including job responsibilities, education, experience, and internal alignment.
