Join the Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos as a Senior Network Solutions Engineer specializing in Campus Area Networks and Local Area Networks (CAN/LAN). As a Senior Network Solutions Engineer, your key responsibilities will include:
  • Analyzing customer requirements and applying standardized design approaches to deliver services efficiently. You will fully document your designs with diagrams, bill of materials, cabling sheets, configurations, and other essential documentation.
  • Utilizing our private test lab to assess new technologies, test proposed changes to production networks, and recreate troubleshooting scenarios to assist in maintaining the operational integrity of the enterprise network.
  • Coordinating maintenance windows for transitioning user connections from legacy systems to modern infrastructure, ensuring minimal disruption to critical data flows.
  • Providing technical guidance to Operations engineers and technicians while aiding in fault isolation and resolution. You will tackle complex problems with innovative and scalable solutions.
  • Designing secure network configurations that comply with Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and enterprise policies. You will also work to obtain Authority to Operate (ATO) for new devices and capabilities.
  • Supervising (not managing) network support specialists to plan, coordinate, and execute network services effectively.
  • Continuously improving design products, processes, and systems to enhance team efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Although predominantly focused on CAN/LAN, you will have the opportunity to learn and engage with Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Networks (WANs).
Basic Qualifications:
  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with active Poly.
  • A minimum of 16 years of combined work history and education. Options include a doctorate and 8 years of experience, a master's degree and 10 years, a bachelor's degree and 12 years, an associate's degree and 14 years, or a high school diploma combined with 16 years of experience.
  • Must meet DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 (Security+ CE) compliance.
  • Experience in network engineering, particularly Tier III or higher network operations and/or network design and implementation.
  • Previous management of production network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, and/or Juniper.
  • Hands-on experience with routing protocols in production networks, such as OSPF or BGP.
  • Hands-on experience with switching and trunking protocols in production networks, including VLANs, 802.1q, and port-channels.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Network engineering and design experience specifically with CAN/LAN, including adherence to industry standards and effective integration into production environments.
  • Proficiency in designing and managing MPLS WANs, network management tools, and firewalls.
  • Expert-level knowledge of routing and switching protocols, with extensive BGP experience as a plus.
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or possess equivalent knowledge.
  • Demonstrated initiative and discipline to work independently within a network engineering team. Experience in establishing processes and creating documentation is a valuable asset.

Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
