Cloud Imperium is seeking a Senior Network Programmer for our Wilmslow Studio to work on our MMO PC space combat sim, Star Citizen.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain our core network library
- Research and implement new networking technologies and tools
- Analyze, refactor, and improve existing network codebase
- Collaborate with other programmers to implement networked game features
- Debug and resolve network-related issues
- Proactively identify and address networking problems
- Integrate client and server with backend services
- Mentor junior team members
Qualifications
- Strong C skills and experience with multi-threaded programming
- Excellent debugging skills for complex issues
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Innovative mindset with the ability to plan and deliver features
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
Minimum Requirements
- Experience with TCP and UDP network programming
- Experience with server mesh technologies
- Profiling and optimization skills (network, CPU, memory, IO)
- Development experience on Windows/Linux platforms
- Experience with client/server network traffic management
- Management experience
