Description Join Leidos as a
Senior Network Management Systems (NMS) Administrator and take part in a significant migration project within a prestigious DOD contract. The I3TS program delivers extensive IT support aimed at consolidating and modernizing DTRA's IT services to empower mission capabilities for both internal and external partners.
As a critical member of our team, you will leverage your expertise in NMS administration, particularly with SolarWinds, to oversee our network and systems monitoring operations. Your role will be pivotal in configuring, optimizing, and supporting the NMS platform, fostering proactive issue detection, and enhancing resolution efficiency.
Key Responsibilities: - Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of SolarWinds modules (e.g., NPM, SAM, NTA, NCM, VMAN).
- Monitor network devices, servers, applications, and databases for performance and reliability.
- Create and manage custom dashboards, alerts, and reports tailored to IT operations and business requirements.
- Integrate SolarWinds with additional tools and platforms like ServiceNow and Splunk.
- Analyze performance data to preemptively identify issues and recommend enhancements.
- Execute routine software updates, patches, and security configurations in the SolarWinds environment.
- Troubleshoot SolarWinds-related issues and provide Tier 2/3 support when necessary.
- Maintain clear documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
- Collaborate with various IT teams (network, systems, security, DevOps) to ensure comprehensive monitoring coverage.
- Participate in an on-call support rotation as needed.
Basic Qualifications Required: - Bachelor's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience, or a Master's with 6-10 years of experience; a Doctorate in a technical domain is also considered. Specific experience and training may substitute for a degree.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience with SolarWinds or other NMS tools.
- Proficiency in SolarWinds configurations, particularly NPM, SAM, and NCM.
- Strong knowledge of network and systems infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, Windows/Linux servers, and virtualization technologies.
- Experience with monitoring protocols such as SNMP, WMI, and ICMP.
- Familiar with scripting languages such as PowerShell and Python for automation tasks.
- Exceptional troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Current Security+ certification or equivalent required before starting.
- Must have an active DoD Secret clearance with eligibility for a Top Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with SQL and understanding of SolarWinds Orion database structure.
- SolarWinds Certified Professional (SCP) certification.
- Familiarity with enterprise or multi-tenant environments.
- Knowledge of ITIL practices and change management processes.

Pay Range: $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
