Join our Team. We are looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Network Implementation Engineer to support our customer, the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). As part of the Leidos Digital Modernization Sector, you will play a crucial role in providing, operating, and assuring command and control of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) services for the Department of Defense (DoD) and national security organizations.
In this position, you will oversee the installation, configuration, and testing of network equipment, ensuring seamless service activations and compliance with DISA standards. Your expertise will directly impact our mission-critical operations.
Primary Responsibilities: - Coordinate with customers and manage Initial Test and Acceptance (IT&A), ensuring accurate reporting and data input for new network equipment and service activations.
- Configure and maintain DISA's out-of-band management network with Cisco and Juniper devices tailored for each site.
- Upgrade software on networking devices to enhance performance and security.
- Develop project planning documentation, including IP addressing schemes and equipment management IP selection.
- Analyze and consult with users to determine system requirements and functional needs.
- Ensure correct and properly formatted information (POC, location, & interface) according to requirements.
- Verify accurate points of contact for each circuit location, collaborating with project managers and customers to clarify any unclear requirements.
- Engage stakeholders for timely approvals to maintain project momentum.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree with 4-8 years of relevant experience or a Master's degree with 2-6 years of experience.
- An active Secret security clearance is required.
- DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 baseline certification (Security+ CE or equivalent).
- Proficient knowledge of various network hardware specifications and testing processes.
- Experience in network engineering, problem management, and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with networking architecture and the ability to recommend and evaluate new technologies.
- Knowledge of data and voice network design across transmission systems and commercial protocols (e.g., BGP, ISIS).
- Experience with network services (BGP, OSPF, DHCP, DNS, TCP/IP, etc.) and appliances (routers, load balancers, etc.).
- Strong ability to configure, activate, test, and analyze network systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a focus on teamwork and collaboration.
Preferred Qualifications: - Previous experience working with DISA or knowledge of DISA systems.
- Experience with SharePoint data entry and order processing.
- Ability to place orders on behalf of customers and manage service requests through DISA Storefront (DSF).
- Proven track record in customer outreach to verify accuracy of POC and location details.
