About the Role: As the Senior Network Engineering Architect you will collaborate with a team to design, implement, and maintain our network infrastructure, with a primary focus on Juniper Networks technologies. You will contribute to setting the strategic direction for the network while working alongside others to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our network architecture across the organization. In this role, you will work with cross-functional teams to drive optimization and expansion efforts that support business growth, ensuring that network strategies align with broader organizational goals, and that network performance remains optimal with minimal downtime.


Responsibilities:

  • Juniper Networks Expertise: Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience with Juniper Networks products, including but not limited to Juniper SRX & MX Series routers, Juniper EX Series switches, and Junos OS.
  • Configuration and Troubleshooting: Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Juniper networking devices to optimize performance, resolve issues, and ensure seamless operation. Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
  • Network Design and Implementation: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement scalable and resilient network solutions using Juniper technologies while ensuring alignment with industry best practices and company standards.
  • Network Security: Implement and sustain robust security measures on Juniper devices, including firewalls, VPNs, and access control policies.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in the understanding of the protocols surrounding IP service provider networks, skills include but are not limited to:
  1. IP/Routing experience (OSPF, ISIS, BGP, MPLS-TE, RSVP, LDP, IPv6, Routing Policy)
  2. Routing protocol operation, migration, and scaling mechanisms
  3. Routing policies at BGP peering points
  4. VPNs and the associated tunneling technologies (MPLS,EVPN, L3VPN, VPLS)
  5. Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to design, deploy, and install internal and external networks
  • Test, Monitoring and Optimization: Utilize monitoring tools to proactively identify and address network performance issues. Continuously optimize network configurations to enhance efficiency and responsiveness.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations, diagrams, and operational procedures.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with other IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to gather requirements, provide technical expertise, and contribute to the overall success of network-related projects.
  • Training and Mentoring: Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies. Manage and provide mentorship and training to foster skill development within the team.
  • Travel requirements: 15% - 20%.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field, preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience as a Network Engineer with a focus on Juniper Networks technologies.
  • Experience in a leadership or management role, with a proven track record of leading and developing high-performing teams in a network engineering environment.
  • Juniper Networks certifications (e.g., JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP) & Cisco CCNA/CCNP certification are highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), MPLS, VPN technologies, and network security principles.
  • Extensive experience in network design, architecture, and performance optimization at scale.
  • Demonstrated ability to set and drive technical strategy for network engineering, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to manage and mentor a team of network engineers, foster collaboration, and develop team capabilities.
  • Strong project management experience, including the ability to prioritize and manage multiple initiatives across teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail and the ability to tackle complex network challenges at both the operational and strategic levels.
  • Proven track record in managing network infrastructure projects, from design through implementation, with the ability to meet deadlines and manage stakeholder expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and provide clear reporting to senior management.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating resilience and adaptability in a constantly evolving network landscape.
  • Experience in budgeting, resource planning, and vendor management related to network projects and ongoing operations.
  • Proficiency in network systems design and documentation tools (e.g., Visio, Excel, Word).
  • Ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement within the network engineering team, identifying opportunities for process and performance optimization.
