Your Impact: The mission of the Lone Wolf program is to support, operate, and maintain the Distributed Continuity Integrated Network - Top Secret Enterprise Services (DCIN-TS ES) which is a DoD-provided, TS/SCI, integrated voice, video, and data, global communications network that facilitates collaboration among senior leaders and key staff. Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of the Senior Network Engineer include, but are not limited to, the following: Serve as a senior-level technical contributor, leveraging extensive experience in local and wide area networking, communications infrastructure, and associated software and hardware components within a complex, multi-platform operating environment. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team composed of government personnel and multiple contractors to provide comprehensive IT support to a broad and diverse customer base. Support all facets of information systems operations, including data control, computer and communications systems, LAN/WAN administration, operating systems programming, and the implementation and enforcement of system security policies and procedures. Evaluate and define hardware requirements to support evolving mission needs. Prepare detailed technical specifications to guide procurement and integration of new hardware solutions. Conduct in-depth research and develop recommendations on emerging technologies and future capabilities. Focus areas include deployable (mobile and transportable) network solutions, virtualization, Software Defined Networking (SDN), and interoperability with mission partner systems and services. Review network site design packages created by the Site Design team to ensure accuracy, completeness, and alignment with technical standards. Design and architect advanced network communications systems that meet operational requirements and support strategic objectives. Provide technical recommendations to the Configuration Management Board regarding new or replacement hardware and software components that align with the enterprise engineering roadmap. Communicate hardware lifecycle status to the Life Cycle Management team, including identification of systems approaching end-of-life (EOL) or end-of-service (EOS), to support proactive planning and replacement. Coordinate closely with Information Assurance Security Engineers to validate that all system and network designs conform to applicable security controls and maintain the Authority to Operate (ATO) for each enclave. Develop, review, and maintain high-quality technical documentation to support integration, implementation, and sustainment efforts across network projects. Produce complete implementation packages-including documentation, templates, and procedures-for all phases of deploying and maintaining network infrastructure and services. Deliver engineering expertise to the Network Operations Center (NOC) and provide on-demand support to implementation and sustainment teams across multiple environments. Investigate and resolve complex technical, performance, and security-related issues, utilizing advanced diagnostic skills and cross-domain knowledge. Design and deploy technical solutions spanning a broad range of platforms and network technologies to support evolving operational needs. Apply and maintain compliance with DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) to ensure consistent adherence to cybersecurity standards. Remain current with emerging technologies, industry trends, and vendor offerings. Evaluate and recommend new products and solutions that enhance system performance, security, and reliability. Requirements: Must have active Top-Secret clearance with SCI or TS with the ability to acquire SCI Extensive experience working with a wide range of Cisco networking products, including routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, across enterprise and tactical environments. Strong foundational and applied knowledge of core internetworking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, VPLS, DMVPN, EIGRP, BGP, OSPF, VRRP, HSRP, and NHRP, with a focus on routing, redundancy, and secure connectivity. Proficient in network security principles, practices, and technologies. Skilled in configuring and managing secure network environments using SSH, IPSec VPNs, RADIUS, TACACS, firewall rulesets, and 802.1x authentication mechanisms. Experienced in the installation, configuration, and administration of network and systems infrastructure equipment, ensuring reliable performance and compliance with design specifications. Conducted comprehensive network design, testing, and validation to assess functionality, scalability, and interoperability of new and upgraded architectures. Skilled in managing and optimizing remote network operations, with an emphasis on performance monitoring, fault isolation, and bandwidth efficiency across geographically dispersed environments. Demonstrated expertise in the integration and interconnection of IP telephony systems over LAN and WAN architectures, supporting unified communications across multiple locations. Must be able to work a 40-hour work week, normally Monday through Friday. Ability to work overtime during critical peaks and be available to meet last-minute requests for overtime if needed. Ability to travel (5-10%) primarily within 75 miles. Familiarity with MS Office applications such as Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint, Project, and Visio. Exceptional attention to detail; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong critical thinking, organizational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
