Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Network Engineer to join our team. This individual will be responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting our growing network infrastructure. The role requires deep technical expertise in enterprise network environments, critical thinking, and strong communication skills to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Plan, design, implement, and maintain data networks in alignment with corporate architectural standards, methods, and procedures.
Lead projects and collaborate with business partners to design and deliver complex network solutions.
Configure and deploy routers and switches using provisioning templates, and develop custom configurations for unique deployments.
Develop network drawings and construction packages in Visio for field technicians, including written instructions and bills of materials (BOM).
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot complex issues using network monitoring tools like SolarWinds Orion.
Perform NERC CIP compliance activities, including adding/removing devices from the network and processing Footprints Change Requests.
Utilize a variety of tools and systems, including CLI-based network devices, web servers, and Windows-based utilities.
Maintain strong adherence to security best practices and ensure the integrity of the data network supporting the electric grid.

Technical Skills & Expertise:
7-10 years of experience in network engineering, with a strong foundation in LAN, WAN, and WLAN technologies.
Expert knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP), route advertisement, prefix filtering, and redistribution techniques.
Experience with firewall technologies, including rule modifications, troubleshooting using log entries, and validating routing.
Proficiency with underlay and overlay technologies such as GRE, IPsec tunneling, DMVPN, and SDWAN.
Familiarity with network monitoring and management platforms such as:
SolarWinds Orion
Cisco ISE
BlueCat IPAM

Soft Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to convey complex information across various platforms (email, phone, messaging).
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
Demonstrated commitment to regulatory compliance and security protocols.
Capable of effectively explaining technical concepts to stakeholders without technical backgrounds.

Preferred Qualifications:
Relevant certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
Experience working in regulated industries (e.g., energy, utilities) and familiarity with NERC CIP compliance.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $55.00 - $60.00 per hour
