In addition, you will use tools such as Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE), and Splunk for network management and logging. We seek a candidate with not only extensive knowledge of network technologies and security protocols but also hands-on experience with these essential tools to support the NASA Zero Trust Architecture (ZTA) efficiently and securely. While this is a hybrid role, candidates must be within commuting distance of any NASA facility.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Identify optimal access point placements and RF coverage across different environments.
  • Manage Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for enforcement of network access control policies.
  • Respond to network incidents, troubleshoot issues, and provide fast resolutions to minimize downtime.
  • Oversee network configuration, inventory, and performance management using Cisco Catalyst Center.
  • Develop Splunk dashboards for network-related incidents, performance monitoring, and security events.
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of network configurations and troubleshooting processes.
  • Collaborate with NASA customers, network engineers, and technicians to implement network design changes and resolve escalated issues.
  • Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • 10 - 15 years of experience with WLAN and LAN in large Enterprise networks.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Wi-Fi technologies and standards.
  • Extensive experience with Cisco wireless infrastructure and management tools.
  • Proficiency in site surveys and wireless RF design using industry-standard software.
  • Solid understanding of LAN technologies and Cisco routing and switching.
  • Experience with NAC solutions for wired and wireless environments.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Relevant certifications such as CWNA, CWDP, or CCNP Enterprise (Wireless) are preferred.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
Desired Skills:
  • Experience with fabric wireless (SD-Access Wireless).
  • In-depth knowledge of Cisco Identity Services Engine (ISE) for access control.
  • Proficiency with Splunk for network log management.
  • Familiarity with advanced networking protocols.
  • Strong analytical skills for troubleshooting complex network issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented and capable of mentoring junior engineers.
  • Understanding of RF principles.
  • Additional relevant certifications in Security and Route/Switch are a plus.
