Position Summary

As a member of the professional staff, contributes a high level of specialized knowledge and skill in a discipline (e.g. Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Information Resources, Operations Planning & Support, Sales & Marketing) area to support department and/or function objectives. Generally, works with considerable independence, developing operating plans and related operational processes for own department in alignment with broader business objectives. responsible for selection, supervision and development of staff in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Specific Job Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for designing, installing, maintaining and supporting LAN, WAN and load Balancer infrastructure. Provide high level of technical support for voice and data network systems, create and maintain network documentation, maintain hardware and software standards. The Network Engineer must be well versed on advanced engineering and administration of multiprotocol routers, multilayer switches, network security devices and network management systems. The engineer must be comfortable working under time sensitive deadlines and collaborating with large groups on distributed projects. Some travel will be required for network maintenance or installation of sites. The routing and switching are a mostly Juniper environment and the candidate should be well versed in JUNOS.

Specific Expected Contributions

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts
  • Resolve customer incidents and problems rapidly
  • Analyzing data captured from network monitoring systems in order to produce useful analytics that can be used to uncover errors or inefficiencies in design
  • Manage and coordinate with automation team to maintain and provide design guidance on network automation tasks
  • Candidate must be comfortable working in a team and be able to follow processes and procedures. Experience working in a change controlled highly available environment
  • Document network designs and device configurations
  • Provide technical guidance to junior members of team including direct training and the production of documents for internal training
  • Design complex network changes and put together detailed equipment lists and requirements for implementations
  • Develop budgetary costs for implementations
  • Coordinate with internal and external reaources to complete implementations and troubleshoot issues
  • Recommend changes to the environment that improve efficiency, stability, and security of existing networks
  • Be the final technical escalation point for issues identified by other team members and work all issues to resolution
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive information
  • Flexibility with some light travel as needed
  • Off hours support will be required
  • Participate in a regular on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support
  • Performs other duties as appropriate

Specific Candidate Profile

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related discipline or equivalent work experience

Certifications Preferred:

  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP)
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE)
  • Juniper Networks Certified Internet Associate (JNCA)
  • Juniper Networks Certification Program (JNCP)

Experience

  • At least 5 years progressive experience in Networking
  • Proven ability to learn how a business operates while continuously building business acumen
  • Familiarity with financial analysis and associated reporting tools
  • Experience managing the budget process and being financially accountable for achieving results
  • Proven experience driving organizational change and leading technology transformations vis stakeholder engagement and vendor management
  • Experience gathering requirements and translating into a group product vision by leveraging expertise in product development, systems integrations, and engineering

    • Experience with Monitoring tools (CA-Spectrum, SolarWinds/Orion, Wireshark)
    • Scripting (Juniper SLAX, F5/Cisco TCL, Unix BASH, Python, JavaScript)
    • Familiarity with Information Security tools/products (Internet proxies, IDS/IDP, Web Application Firewalls, Network Access Controls)
