Job Summary: The Network Engineer will be responsible for implementing technical designs, troubleshooting network issues, and providing effective production support. This role involves working on both hardware and software aspects of the corporate enterprise network, including Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), and Voice Network Technologies. The engineer will be expected to deliver small-to-medium-scale projects, coordinate tasks, and interact with users and vendors. A strong background in networking technologies, problem-solving skills, and a focus on customer service are essential.
Key Responsibilities: Implement initial technical designs for network projects and support production environments. Troubleshoot network problems, balancing cost containment and timeliness of service delivery. Communicate the business value and impact of technical solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Provide effective production support, including accurate problem identification, ticket documentation, and customer/vendor communication. Respond to requests from individual users and deliver timely solutions to their network-related issues. Deliver project and process documentation for small-to-medium-scale network projects. Recommend alternate solutions for change requests, ensuring business continuity and minimal disruption. Provide Level 1 & 2 support for the corporate enterprise network. Verify hardware and software requirements, and design/configure Local Area Network (LAN), Wide Area Network (WAN), Data Center Network, and Voice Network technologies. Perform network equipment provisioning, configuration, installation, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Support network technologies and provide a high level of user support across the organization. Maintain current professional and technical skills, keeping up to date with industry developments. Required Qualifications: - Strong technology background in networking with a focus on core routing and switching.
- Experience with Cisco IOS Enterprise Network Core Routing & Switching.
- Proficiency in routing protocols including BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP.
- Solid understanding of Layer 2 protocols such as Spanning Tree, port-channels, and 802.1x.
- Experience with Cisco ASA and Palo Alto Firewalls.
- Knowledge of Cisco Proxies, F5 Load Balancers, and Infoblox IPAM.
- Experience with wireless network technologies.
- Ability to articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Strong troubleshooting skills for resolving network issues and minimizing service disruptions.
- Strong project coordination and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with scripting languages such as Python for network automation and troubleshooting.
Certifications (if any): Relevant certifications in networking, such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), or equivalent, are preferred but not required.
