Summary The Network Engineer supports and improves the customer's large-scale IT environment with SLRs/SLAs for high availability and uptime. The Network Engineer manages, maintains, plans, schedules, integrates, and troubleshoots the overall network and its devices-WANs, LANs, WLANs, VPNs, VoIP, etc.-and monitors network health. The Network Engineer will handle network installation planning, upgrades, cutovers, and testing. The Sr. Network Engineer will implement network security best practices.
This environment is comprised of Cisco Nexus, IOS and IOS-XE routers and switches. The WAN is a mixture of technologies including, private DWDM fiber, site-to-site VPN, and leased circuits. The environment includes, Infoblox DHCP/DNS services, Palo Alto and ASA firewalls. This position reports to the Sr. Network Manager, receives guidance from the program's Tower Sr. Network Architect and offers support in a team of network engineers.

Responsibilities - Design, set up, configure and troubleshoot Cisco and non-Cisco network switches and other network components to support all aspects of the day-to-day operations
- Perform day to day administration and operational functions of the network environment
- Day to day monitoring of the network, collecting and preparing statistical data for analysis on network performance and availability (monitoring of network device logs, monitoring of port statistics)
- Documentation of Procedures / Networking environment (ensure that all network documentation is accurate and up to date)
- Document issue resolution using the helpdesk ticketing system
- Management of the IOS images and ensuring patches are tested and applied
- Submit Request for Change forms when needed. Participate in Change Advisory Board meetings
- Install and configure software
- Mass updates of network equipment using CLI scripting
- Configuration validation using CLI scripting
- Maintain excellent communication with all end-users and other members of the technology department
- Assist other team members in executing various project tasks
- Work with hardware break/fix vendor as needed
- Execute other assigned tasks as delegated by the Customer, Project Manager, and Team Lead
- Perform vulnerability investigations, and mitigations, on network infrastructure for PCI, HIPPA and other network compliance.
Requirements - Current CCNA/CCNP certification
- 5+ years of experience in multi-site networks supporting 5000+ end points
- Well versed in ITIL concepts
- Familiarity with common network tools e.g., bits set, loopback plugs, laser lights for fiber identification, etc.
- Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and managing: Cisco Prime, Cisco DNAC, Cisco ISE, Solarwinds, Infoblox, Palo Alto, and F5 is a plus.
- Self-starting attitude looking to take ownership of managing the environment.
- Experience working with ServiceNow is preferred
