Required Certifications

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 5-7 years of hands-on experience managing complex network infrastructures, including routers, switches, cloud environments (AWS/Azure), and security protocols. Candidates should also bring expert-level knowledge in network troubleshooting, architecture design, and compliance with NIST and other best practices.


Position Overview: The Senior Network Engineer plays a vital role in maintaining the stability, security, and performance of the Florida Turnpike Enterprise's (FTE) network infrastructure. Reporting to the Security Risk Compliance Office Program Director, this individual must demonstrate advanced expertise in deploying, managing, and troubleshooting across diverse network environments.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage Layer 2 and 3 protocols (routers, switches); monitor network throughput and resolve performance issues.
  • Proactively monitor and troubleshoot FTE's entire Network Infrastructure: campus, roadside, LANs, partner networks, and third-party connectivity.
  • Evaluate network architecture/design, propose changes to improve failover, reliability, and performance.
  • Implement network security: access controls, segmentation, disaster recovery plans.
  • Use SolarWinds to create dashboards for monitoring, reporting, and proactive troubleshooting.
  • Patch and update all network equipment: routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
  • Collaborate on Cloud architecture (capacity, failover, security) for public/private/hybrid systems.
  • Maintain accurate inventory of all network equipment.
  • Keep updated network infrastructure diagrams and documentation, including change controls.
  • Support the cybersecurity team in forensic investigations and evidence preservation.
  • Ensure compliance with SRCO standards and industry best practices (e.g., NIST).

Requirements:

  • Full-time On-Site position - No remote work allowed.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience:
  • 5-7 years with routing protocols, routers/switches, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure)
  • 5-7 years with Unix (RedHat), Windows, VMWare
