Senior Network Engineer (Campus Area Network/Local Area Network). This role is essential in supporting our government customers with global enterprise networks. As part of a team engaged in a significant initiative to modernize network components, you will help shape the architecture that enhances service delivery while meeting mission-critical requirements. In this role, you will be responsible for:
- Understanding customer needs and applying standardized design approaches for effective service delivery. You will document your designs thoroughly, including diagrams, bill of materials, and configurations.
- Utilizing our private test lab to assess new technologies, evaluate changes to production networks, and recreate troubleshooting scenarios that support critical operations.
- Coordinating maintenance windows for seamless migration of user connections from legacy systems to modern infrastructure with minimal disruption to ongoing operations.
- Providing expert technical support to operations engineers and technicians, helping to resolve complex issues with innovative solutions.
- Crafting secure network designs compliant with Defense Information Security Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) and managing the Authority to Operate (ATO) process for new technologies.
- Overseeing team activities of network support specialists to ensure efficient planning and implementation of network services.
- Improving design processes and systems for enhanced operational efficiency.
- Expanding your skills and knowledge in Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS) Wide Area Networks (WANs) as an integral part of your development.
Basic Qualifications: - Required Clearance: TS/SCI with active Poly.
- A total of 16 years of experience is required, which may include a combination of education and work history, such as a doctorate with 8 years, a master's with 10 years, or a bachelor's with 12 years.
- Compliance with DoD 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2 (Security+ CE) is necessary.
- Demonstrated experience in network engineering, particularly Tier III-level operations or network design and implementation.
- Prior experience with production network hardware configurations for Cisco, Brocade, or Juniper systems.
- Hands-on expertise in implementing and troubleshooting standard routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP) in production environments.
- Experience with standard switching and trunking protocols (e.g., VLANs, 802.1q, port-channels) is essential.
Desired Qualifications: - Proven engineering and design experience, specifically related to CAN/LAN, including application of industry standards and integration into production environments.
- Experience with MPLS WANs, network management tools, and firewall technologies.
- Deep knowledge of routing and switching protocols, with a preference for extensive BGP experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification or equivalent knowledge is highly desirable.
- Strong initiative and ability to work independently as part of a network engineering team, with experience in establishing processes and developing documentation.

Pay Range: Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
