Executive Summary: HRUCKUS seeks a Senior Network Engineer for a role supporting the Department of the Navy in Annapolis Junction, MD.
Position Description: The Senior Network Engineer will provide design and upgrade efforts encompassing the network infrastructure across a large-scale enterprise Information Technology (IT) program.
Position Responsibilities:
- Review and analyze the existing network architecture and provide designs of current/modern WAN/MAN/LAN technologies
- Recommend best practices such as SDN, Intent-based networking, network segmentation protocols, etc., to improve the existing architecture and meet new networking requirements
- Design telecommunications circuit specifications
- Identify the need for routers, switches, and encryption devices to support enterprise services
- Deliver service catalog items for automatically provisioning network configurations to deliver Infrastructure-as-Code
- Develop and maintain network architecture specifications and artifacts
- Designs and plans network communications systems
- Provides specifications and detailed schematics for network architecture
- Conducts cost/benefit analysis and provides detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements
- Conducts testing of network design
- Responsible for monitoring network hardware operations to ensure proper configuration options are set

- Familiarity with Agile Methodologies for iterative network project management
- Experience with Change Management Processes to ensure smooth network updates and configurations
- Knowledge of DISN (Department of Defense Information Network) or CANES (Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services) systems
- Proficiency in Visio or Similar Diagramming Tools for network design documentation
Required Certification:
