The Senior Network Analyst is responsible for designing, building, and implementing network systems across the district. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all local and wide area network connections, district servers, associated software, and communication links, to include telecom. The role also involves troubleshooting network performance issues, analyzing network traffic, and providing capacity planning solutions to ensure reliable, efficient, and secure network services for students, staff, and administrators.

  • Attains proficient or higher evaluations on established Performance Standards
  • Administers and maintains Windows Servers (2008, 2012, 2016), network switches, routers, print servers, Active Directory, DNS, GPOs, security monitoring, and account management
  • Assists with disaster recovery and business continuity planning and testing
  • Collaborates with the cyber-security team to ensure comprehensive protection of the district's IT infrastructure
  • Conducts network design and system performance testing to verify optimal performance, capacity, and efficiency
  • Conducts regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements
  • Conducts research on emerging technologies to recommend cost-effective and flexible infrastructure solutions
  • Coordinates with vendors and service providers for network-related services and support
  • Designs, integrates, and manages complex infrastructure solutions, including district-wide, local, and wireless networks, servers, switches, routers, firewalls, and access points
  • Develops and delivers training sessions for end-users on network-related topics
  • Develops and enforces policies, procedures, and standards for installing, configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting end-user hardware, software, and peripherals
  • Ensures hardware, operating systems, and software applications are integrated and aligned with enterprise needs
  • Implements and enforces cyber-security policies and procedures to protect district data and systems
  • Implements and monitors network security, user privileges, and VPN/firewall configurations
  • Leads network-related projects and initiatives, ensuring timely completion and adherence to budget
  • Maintains thorough documentation of network designs, configurations, and processes
  • Monitors and troubleshoots data communications, bandwidth usage, and network performance, recommending hardware replacements as needed
  • Monitors network traffic for suspicious activity and responds to security incidents promptly
  • Participates in training activities to further knowledge and provides technical support and guidance to junior network staff
  • Promotes cyber-security awareness by educating staff on best practices and potential threats
  • Responds to Help Desk tickets related to network issues, systems management, and other system issues
  • Serves as an effective team member of the Information Technology Department
  • Stays current with changes in wireless and security advances to combat security threats

  • Network Security: Knowledge of firewalls, VPNs, and wireless security protocols
  • Networking Concepts: Knowledge of LAN/WAN and Wireless Networking Concepts
  • Operating Systems: Proficient in various operating systems including Windows (7, 10, 11, 2003, 2008, 2012 R2), Linux, VMware Enterprise administration, and HyperV

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's (Baccalaureate) degree (e.g., B.A., A.B., B.S.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies, virtualization, and cybersecurity best practices
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's degree (e.g., M.A., M.S., M.Eng, M.Ed, M.S.W., M.B.A., M.L.S.) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
  • 3+ years working in network architecture, design, implementation, and support
  • At least one certificate such as CCIE, CCNP, CWNA or related discipline/level
Compensation Range:
$100,005-$110,005
(Based on job relevant experience at 100% FTE)
