Your purpose:

  1. Contribute to business development at a local level, understanding project briefs, and delivering varied scopes of service.
  2. Engage with markets by liaising with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, and sub-contractors to develop new or existing business areas.
  3. Own responses to project opportunities, contribute to bids and proposals, and follow through on leads with clients.
  4. Prepare fee proposals, estimate pricing accurately, and respond successfully to bids across expertise areas.
  5. Operate quality assurance, control, and document management systems, monitor and report on expenditure, and lead complex, high-value projects focusing on Building Energy Performance.
  6. Develop client strategies for site and estate-wide decarbonisation, produce detailed calculations using industry-standard software, and prepare technical specifications and design drawings.
  7. Collaborate with AtkinsRéalis GTC to add value, represent AtkinsRéalis in meetings, conduct site surveys, inspections, and site work monitoring, and maintain records according to standards.
  8. Manage project delivery elements, monitor progress, report anomalies, assist in technical development of junior staff, identify business opportunities, and manage commercial aspects.

What you can bring:

  • Degree or equivalent in a related field, with sustainability, energy, or carbon qualifications/accreditations. Chartered Engineer (or working towards CEng) with CIBSE or IET.
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills, capable of clear technical expression, presentation, and report writing.
  • Knowledge of common contract forms (NEC, JCT), relevant legislation, regulations, and standards (building regs, London Plan, BREEAM).
  • Proficiency in digital tools, energy reduction methods, decarbonisation approaches, and data analytics. Awareness of building physics principles, passive design, fabric-first approaches, and experience with measurement, verification, commissioning, and post-installation evaluation.
  • Experience in design consultancy or contractor environments is beneficial. Ability to manage personal project deliverables, operate proactively, and work within budgets. Good report writing and client communication skills.
