Senior Merchandise Manager, Bedding -
Onsite: Tampa, FL What Will You Do?
We are seeking an experienced Senior Merchandise Manager to lead and develop merchandising strategies for our bedding category. This role will be responsible for driving sales growth, maintaining profit margins, and ensuring optimal inventory management while staying aligned with current market trends and consumer preferences.
Primary Responsibilities
• Develop and execute comprehensive merchandising strategies to maximize sales and profitability across the bedding category.
• Perform market analysis, competitive shopping, and sales trend analysis to inform strategic decisions.
• Maintain and manage vendor relationships, resolve issues, and conduct negotiations as needed.
• Collaborate with planning teams to establish and maintain optimal inventory levels, delivery adjustments, and markdowns to maximize profitability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Sales, E-commerce, Marketing, Product Development, Creative, Distribution and Supply Chain.
• Monitor and analyze category performance metrics, making necessary adjustments to assortment to achieve business goals.
• Make employment decisions and/or recommendations on hiring, improvement plans, transfers, promotions, corrective actions, terminations, pay adjustments, etc.
• Communicate company and departmental issues and goals and facilitate employee growth and development through weekly team meetings, regular individual employee meetings, coaching, training, and company-offered learning opportunities.
• Manage resources to optimize equipment, facilities, employees, methods, and materials.
• Demonstrate the Company's Core and Growth Values in the performance of all job functions.
• Actively participate in departmental meetings, training and education. Assist with training other employees and providing backup.
• Complete other assignments and special projects as requested.
What Do You Need?
- Bachelor's degree in Merchandising, Business or related field or equivalent work experience required
- 7+ years of experience in Merchandising, Required
- Management experience, Required
- Home Furnishings or Bedding experience, Preferred
- Excellent attention to detail, project management and organizational skills
- Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Work independently as well as in a team environment
- Document management system. Analytical and problem solving skills
- Maintain confidentiality
- Working knowledge of Continuous Improvement
- Handle multiple projects simultaneously within established time constraints
- Proficient computer skills, including experience with Microsoft Office Suite, internet
- Perform under strong demands in a fast-paced environment
- Work professionally with customers and co-workers to efficiently serve our customers, treating both with enthusiasm and respect
- Display empathy, understanding and patience with employees and external customers
- Respond professionally in situations with difficult employee/vendor/customer issues or inquiries
- This position will be required to travel frequently.
- Flexible and willing to work extended hours when necessary.
