Description
- Lead the planning, design, and execution of mechanical engineering projects from concept through commissioning, ensuring on-time, on-budget, and high-quality delivery.
- Develop scopes of work, cost estimates, engineering calculations, and technical specifications for mechanical systems, machinery installations, and facility modifications.
- Interface with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to develop solutions, evaluate bids, and ensure compliance with project specifications and safety standards.
- Manage project documentation, including drawings, schedules, work orders, and technical reports.
- Support maintenance and reliability initiatives through mechanical troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and equipment optimization.
- Coordinate installation and commissioning of new or upgraded systems, including hydraulics, pneumatics, rotating equipment, and structural supports.
- Perform risk assessments and safety reviews on new equipment and modifications.
- Provide technical guidance to maintenance personnel and contribute to training initiatives related to mechanical systems.
- Ensure all mechanical systems comply with internal engineering standards, OSHA requirements, and applicable codes (e.g., ASME, ANSI).
- Support continuous improvement and asset health monitoring efforts using predictive technologies (e.g., vibration analysis, thermal imaging, oil analysis).
- Participate in capital planning, equipment lifecycle assessments, and strategic maintenance improvements.
Profile
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
- 5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
- Background in aluminum, metals, or heavy manufacturing preferred.
- Proven ability to manage complex technical projects from design through implementation.
- Proficiency in 2D/3D CAD software such as AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of rotating equipment, piping systems, and structural frameworks.
- Comfortable working on-site in a production facility and supporting hands-on troubleshooting.
