Minimum Qualification Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Licensed Professional Engineer (preferably Mechanical Engineer with HVAC design expertise)
- 15+ years of engineering experience with 7+ years managing teams
- Experience with public /private commercial, educational, and institutional projects
- Project Management Experience
- Proposal writing and construction cost estimating
- Knowledge of all applicable codes and standards
- Report writing and energy analysis
- Knowledge of public bidding procedures; NJDOE, NJSDA, DPMC, DMAVA
- Proven track record of developing existing and new client relationships
- Self-motivated, engaged, team-oriented, and strategic thinker with the ability to work independently under minimal supervision
- Strong leadership, mentoring, team building and engagement skills as well as excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Knowledge of accounting principles, including project budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects at a time
- Proven track record of successfully managing existing client relationships
- AutoCAD and/or Revit experience
- Load Calculation software knowledge, i.e. Trane Trace, Carrier HAP, etc.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as engineering project manager, which would include providing project team direction, scheduling, assessing project budgets, and meeting deliverable milestones
- Visit job sites to survey existing conditions, including when required to develop existing plans, take photographs, and prepare field memos to document existing conditions and observation.
- Preparation of project reports, cost estimates, feasibility studies and other documents required of various project phases
- Oversight of the development of construction documents in REVIT and AutoCAD
- Communicate and coordinate with design team members, architects, senior management, other engineering disciplines, vendors, building officials, other consultants, etc. throughout all phases of the design and construction process
- Attend various meetings, including pre-proposal, pre-design, plan review, pre-construction, active construction, and project close out, etc.
- Competency to prioritize effectively and adjust work accordingly to meet deadlines
- Manage the construction administration process and/or work with LAN's in-house construction administration team from award of the contract through project close-out
- Manage small teams of engineers, designers, and/or draftspeople
- Monitor and provide guidance and decision assistance for clients, general public, contractors, engineers, Project Managers, and other professionals during the concept, design, and construction phases of projects
- Responsible and accountable for development, coordination, input, and enforcement of all technical aspects concerning engineering, code compliance, and observation operations and policies of the department and company
- Develop young staff and provide hands-on assistance during design
