Senior Mechanical Engineer - Massachusetts
We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering to join our team in Boston or Framingham. This role involves designing the mechanical systems for energy-efficient buildings, including heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing, while collaborating with a team of engineers to deliver high-performance solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for helping clients achieve their goals.
Responsibilities:
Manage projects and oversee the design of mechanical systems for bidding and construction.
Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.
Attend meetings with clients, owners, and architects as needed.
Provide guidance to staff engineers on implementing energy-efficient designs.
Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for contract compliance.
Apply engineering principles to research, design, and evaluate mechanical systems and components.
Assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements for design proposals.
Modify and specify system components to ensure performance and compliance with engineering standards.
Collaborate with other engineers and project personnel to resolve system malfunctions and refine operating procedures.
Provide technical feedback to design engineers based on project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience:
10+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in MEP design.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
EIT or PE certification.
Experience in project management and client interactions.
Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.
Background in cooling and heating plants, plumbing, and energy-efficient building design.
Preferred Skills:
Expertise in plumbing, HVAC, and energy systems.
Strong construction and engineering design knowledge.
Experience reviewing and managing submittals.
