Senior Mechanical Engineer - Massachusetts

We are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with 10+ years of experience in consulting engineering to join our team in Boston or Framingham. This role involves designing the mechanical systems for energy-efficient buildings, including heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and plumbing, while collaborating with a team of engineers to deliver high-performance solutions. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with strong technical expertise and a passion for helping clients achieve their goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage projects and oversee the design of mechanical systems for bidding and construction.

  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics, and computer-generated reports.

  • Attend meetings with clients, owners, and architects as needed.

  • Provide guidance to staff engineers on implementing energy-efficient designs.

  • Review contractor submittals and shop drawings for contract compliance.

  • Apply engineering principles to research, design, and evaluate mechanical systems and components.

  • Assess feasibility, cost, and maintenance requirements for design proposals.

  • Modify and specify system components to ensure performance and compliance with engineering standards.

  • Collaborate with other engineers and project personnel to resolve system malfunctions and refine operating procedures.

  • Provide technical feedback to design engineers based on project requirements.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience as a mechanical engineer in MEP design.

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • EIT or PE certification.

  • Experience in project management and client interactions.

  • Proficiency in Revit and AutoCAD.

  • Background in cooling and heating plants, plumbing, and energy-efficient building design.

Preferred Skills:

  • Expertise in plumbing, HVAC, and energy systems.

  • Strong construction and engineering design knowledge.

  • Experience reviewing and managing submittals.
