The Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS), Phantom Works division is seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer (Composite Fabrication) - Phantom Works to join our team in Mesa, AZ. Position Responsibilities: Lead Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) in analyzing product development, innovative producibility studies and production/tooling philosophies Conceptualize and oversee the implementation of the program architecture for build Consult upper management on long-range planning Develop manufacturing plans or concepts for high level program requirements Conduct producibility and variation analyses at the program Large Scale Systems Integration (LSSI) level Resolve complex technical problems Organize technical aspects of proposal development Develop and author new engineering principles, theories and advanced technologies Develop advanced design solutions Conduct research resulting in new product or business opportunities Consult on lean principles and technologies for enterprise wide initiatives Document and communicate producibility best practices Identify training needs Establish procedures, standards, protocols and reporting requirements This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options. This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required. Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience): Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science 14+ years engineering experience with a Bachelor's OR 12+ years with a Masters OR 9+ years with a PhD related work experience (e.g. composite fabrication experience in aerospace, automotive or similar industry) Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience): Experience in aerospace manufacturing and associated tooling, inspection and testing methodologies with emphasis on large scale prototyping applications Experience with Model Based Engineering tools Experience with creation of manufacturing planning and authoring assembly work instructions Experience with aerospace new product development and prototyping Experience with NX/Unigraphics CAD and Teamcenter PDM systems for design interrogation, manufacturing planning development and tooling design review Experience implementing lean manufacturing principles in a production system 10+ years of experience in planning and developing product quality by applying APQP and PFMEA Experience leading and collaborating within a multi-disciplinary engineering environment Ability to collaborate with both the engineering work force and the mechanics on the factory floor 10+ years of experience in engineering design or manufacturing engineering Typical Education/Experience: Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard. Relocation: This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.
