A well-established and innovation-driven aerospace company is seeking a Senior Manager of Development Test Engineering to lead its highly skilled design verification team. This company operates at the forefront of space-based intelligence, delivering critical satellite-derived data to governments, commercial partners, and academic institutions worldwide.
This is an opportunity to own the test strategy for highly reliable, complex aerospace systems-from hardware components to full-system validation. You'll help define the infrastructure, processes, and leadership needed to support next-generation satellite missions.
As the Senior Manager, Development Test Engineering, you will:
- Lead a team of engineers responsible for system-level design verification and qualification testing.
- Architect and refine testing processes, equipment, and infrastructure for high-stakes aerospace systems.
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans across electrical, mechanical, software, and environmental systems.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with design, systems, and manufacturing engineers to ensure testing aligns with technical and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze and resolve issues uncovered during complex test campaigns (vibration, thermal vac, structural, software, etc.).
- Continuously improve test methodologies, including test automation and data analysis capabilities.
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or similar.
- 10+ years of experience in hardware/system testing, including 5+ years in a leadership role.
- Direct hands-on experience with test equipment such as thermal chambers, shakers, spectrum analyzers, and oscilloscopes.
- Familiarity with test automation and data acquisition tools.
- Proven ability to lead technical teams and interface with senior stakeholders.
Bonus Points For:
- Experience with space system qualification standards (e.g., GSFC-STD-7000, SMC-S-016).
- Background in testing avionics or embedded systems.
- Working knowledge of both analog and digital electronics.

- Base Salary Range: $173,000-$230,000 (DOE)
