About the Role - The Sr. Manager of Marketing is responsible for working within the communications team to develop marketing strategy and execution. S/he is an excellent writer that enjoys crafting creative, persuasive messages that inspire action by customers and build relationships with customers, sponsors, and strategic partners. S/he is a motivated, self-starter who will require little oversight to complete and follow varying and overlapping timelines. Role Responsibilities
- Creates and executes integrated marketing approaches to support and market the NC Chamber brands.
- Works to cultivate and nurture prospects for NC Chamber membership and investment, primarily through Events, to ensure financial goals are met.
- Works to increase both sponsorship and attendees at NC Chamber events, ensuring attendance and financial goals are met.
- Oversees any events interns to help build alignment with marketing goals.
- Collaborates with AVP of Marketing and Creative Manager to ensure marketing collateral is on-brand and tailored to target audiences.
- Manages paid budget and executes strategy for digital, social, and other campaigns to market the NC Chamber and its entities.
- Creates and implements strategies for capturing new membership, sponsorship and attendee leads.
- Crafts scripts for event emcees and featured speakers.
- Builds relationships with potential strategic partners to market the NC Chamber and/or its events.
- Establishes and utilizes programs to track, report and respond to email analytics in an effort to increase engagement with target audiences and customers.
- Coordinates with internal teams to provide increased value and communicate ROI to defined audiences, ensuring financial goals are met.
- Collaborates with full communications team to deliver large-scale collateral pieces to market the NC Chamber and its offerings, specifically providing input on powerful calls to action.
- Serves as a proofreader/reviewer for all public-facing pieces.
- Improves quality of NC Chamber data by processing unsubscribes, crafting tailored marketing lists, troubleshooting bounce backs and adding new contacts.
- Works with AVP of Marketing to ensure functionality and efficiency of CRM platforms and other marketing applications/systems.
- Supervisory responsibilities may include managing marketing interns, when applicable
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- Three to seven years' experience in a marketing role
- Above average writing skills with a commitment to crafting a strong message.
- Creative and agile in suggesting and implementing new strategies, as well as abandoning existing practices that are no longer working.
- Obsessive attention to detail that does not get in the way of productivity.
- Travel required for meetings or events within NC a few times a year; typically, no more than one night at a time.
- Social media savvy.
- Quick study.
- Enjoys working in a team.
- Interviewing finesse.
- Inquisitive, with the ability to process new information.
Preferred Qualifications
- Google AdWords certification
- Experience with paid social media campaigns
