About the role:
Chanel is looking for a Senior Manager Merchandise Planning- Watches & Fine Jewelry (WFJ) to join our WFJ team in New York. Reporting to the Head of Merchandising and Planning, this role is responsible for developing and managing the U.S. Watches and Fine Jewelry Merchandising strategy for all US point of sales (including Retail, MBR, Lease, Consignment doors) and is in charge of Demand Planning for Watches and Precious Jewelry. This role requires a full awareness of business opportunities and the ability to draw insightful conclusions from complex datasets. It interfaces with multiple functions in our division (Retail, Marketing, Visual Merchandising) and is a key partner for our Global Supply Chain team. Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Merchandising, is an expert with Excel and PowerBI and will be familiar with Anaplan.
What impact you can create at CHANEL:
Demand Planning:
• Conduct monthly forecasts at category, collection, and style level for both core and novelty product. Align with financial performance targets in collaboration with sales planning team.
• Support global vision while advocating/negotiating for the specific needs of the US region.
• Provide hindsight analyses quarterly to leadership on forecast gaps and identify key learnings to improve forecast accuracy.
• Keep constant pulse on the economic landscape and capitalize on rapidly shifting local trends.
• Optimize demand planning workflow in close collaboration with internal and global tech and supply chain teams. Assortment Planning:
• Set strategic product assortments for all points of distribution, aligned with global and regional vision while optimizing both seller and client journey. Identify key areas of focus and review monthly with global supply chain partners.
• Proactively collaborate with marketing, education, sales, visual merchandising, and other cross functional teams for collection launches and key seasonal moments.
• Engage with field to elevate opportunities for WFJ product category, provide boutique support, identify challenges, and highlight creative solutions. Keep clear line of communication through one-on-one touch bases and/or market visits.
• Provide model stock/assortments directives to the inventory management team for weekly boutique replenishment.
• Partner with the Sales & Marketing teams on product assortment plan for seasonal events.
• Think both creatively and analytically to create a holistic assortment strategy; Customize assortment based on market, store tier, and local demographics.
• Host annual workshops with boutiques to communicate shifts in their assortment, align on product support strategy, and share best practices. Novelty Planning:
• Liaise with the Retail and Marketing team to assess appropriate novelty projections.
• Recap high level Y+1 initiatives with WFJ leadership team.
• Manage product allocations between retail and wholesale, specifically for limited new product launches.
• Support during Pre-Geneva with wholesale partner meetings and oversee proper distribution of novelties across wholesale doors.
• Host monthly touches bases with boutique directors; solicit feedback on new launches and collaborate on action plans to boost sales as needed.
• Ensure alignment among cross functional teams Reporting & Process Enhancement:
• Create business reporting tools that enhance storytelling from complex datasets and promote division cohesiveness.
• Develop and publish Power BI Novelty and Merchandising/Sales dashboards.
• Use as communication tool with leadership, corporate, and field teams. Share business performance monthly and as needed.
• Reconcile data between local and global systems to ensure data accuracy. Maintain daily refresh and coordinate solution with US tech team should any issues arise.
• Identify opportunities to streamline current processes for key merchandising tasks as well as for cross functional collaboration.

• Expert in retail math, Microsoft Excel, and PowerBI
• Previous experience with Anaplan is a plus
• Detail oriented with organizational and problem-solving skills, on top of a strong sense of service Position Logistics:
• Minimum 5 Years of experience ideally within an Operations capacity (Inventory Planning, Forecasting, Distribution, Supply Chain, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree required, ideally in a Supply Chain/Merchandising/Planning field

• The anticipated base salary range for this position is $87,500 to $125,00. Base salary is one component of the total compensation for this position. Other forms of variable pay may be offered for this position. Other components will include bonus potential, benefits, and/or perks. Benefits and Perks:
